            Week 1

The languages most commonly spoken in the capital city is? Italian is the official and most widely spoken language in Rome. However, Rome is a large tourist city, and many within Rome's major tourist areas speak English.

Watch both of the current Air New Zealand safety videos. The first is a video that stars the All Blacks. The second is a video that stars Rhys Darby and Anna Faris (Hollywood actress).  Links for the videos are found below;

Kia ora! G’day! Selamat! Guten Morgen! Hola! Welcome to the beautiful country of your choice. Before you leave the airport and go to your hotel, you will want to learn how to say hello in the language of your country. Look at the basic phrases below that you may need when you are travelling around the Italy.
Good Morning=Buongiorno.
Good bye =arrivederci.
How much does this cost? = quanto costa.               
When is the next bus? =Quando passa il prossimo autobus.
Where is the nearest hospital? =Dove si trova l'ospedale più vicino.
                                                                Week 4
Sports are often very different in other countries; today you will be researching the main sporting activities in your chosen country.
  1. Basketball, Volleyball, and Cycling are the next most popular/played sports, with Italy having a rich tradition in all three. Italy also has strong traditions in Swimming, Water polo, rugby union, tennis, athletics, fencing and Formula One.
                                                              Week 5
Today is a very special day in the country! It’s a major national holiday and everyone is celebrating!

    Ciao, Stephen! It's very cool that you chose Italy. Why did you choose Italy over the other countries? What would you like to learn about that country?

    The Carnival in Venice looks like fun! Is there anything like that in NZ? What festivals or holidays in NZ do you like?
